About

My Professional Path

Having graduated with a Masters degree in Human sciences and psychology from Cambridge University, and completing a PhD at Université Paris II on the subject of how we build our multifaceted identities through our origins, distinctive histories, and the communities to which we belong, I was recruited by Sciences Po, in Paris as of 2003 to lecture in Human sciences. In  my work that spanned over fiftenne years I engaged with students of all backgrounds and nationalities through courses I developed on identity and social psychology, exploring how gender, race and culture shape us and what it takes to navigate those aspects without losing ourselves in the processs. I was also hired by international organisations, including the O.I.E (International organistion on animal health) and Messika amongst others to design and conduct coaching programmes on building emotional and cross-cultural intelligence, conflict management and communication.

As of 2012, this rich experience working both with students and within international organsiations fuelled in me the decision to further my understanding of the human psyche, first through coaching then through psychotherapy. I completed training in psychotherapy at Savoir Psy, a school in Paris that is affiliated with the French federation of Psychotherapy and Psychoanalysis. I also completed a D.U (diplôme universitaire) at the Université Paris Cité on Kleinian Psychoanalysis. My clinical training in psychodrama, working with patients undergoing psychiatric care at the FSEF hospital (Fondation de santé des étudiants de France) enabled me to see firsthand how creative techniques can help people explore and better understand their past, present and how they want to move forawrd. Concomitant to this training, I also embarked on personal psychoanalysis, experiencing for myself what it is to be in analysis three times a week over a period of several years. This process was crucial not only to my own personal self-development but also for my capacity and commitment to accompany others towards finding inner clarity, coherence and a sense of purpose.

Registered as an analytical therapist with the Fédération Française de Psychothérapie et Psychanalyse (FF2P), I work today with people of all ages on issues ranging from identity issues, to anxiety, relationship and communication difficulties and navigating transition. I also work as a professional coach with individuals and groups. Both my psychotherapy and coaching practice is based on the values of respecting the individuality of each person, strict confidentiality, creativity and the conviction that each person can change things and move forward. I am commited to continual learning, am supervised in my practice and am a member of several working groups in the field of psychoanalysis.
